Hosted Platform PDF Print
May 18, 2010 at 05:08 PM

Over the last couple of months we have been rolling out our new Managed hosted PBX platform. We are being different from many other platform suppliers in a such as we are offering customers their own Mini PBX.

What We mean by this is that we do not limit what suppliers they connect to or receive calls from, We are a Gradwell Partner so by default we supply calling minutes and incoming numbers from them, but We have for example customers using Skypes SIP trunks for calling and other suppliers as well.

We also integrate it with Asternics FOP2 Console so  that users can also have an operators panel from the Hosted platform, also have provided CTI integration that is platform independent allowing screen popping on MACs Linus and PCs.

The Aim is to give an independent Hosted Solution.

Finally when you outgrow your hosted solution we can migrate the confuration to your own onsite platform.

Brute force SIP attacks PDF Print
Apr 13, 2010 at 08:12 AM

Over recent weekends many users are finding they are suffereing from brute force attacks from servers in Romania and more worryingly from "servers" in the Amazon cloud.

http://www.stuartsheldon.org/blog/2010/ ... ec2-hosts/ and many other posts have more details and Amazons poor response to this attack.

Make sure you have ACLs setup if you can and most importantly use STRONG passwords. , dont use 1234 use nergt32uy5ue9n also keep an eye on your logs and keep the firewall or IP tables upto date.

These attacks are also causing poor sound quality and many other QOS issues.

http://www.aczoom.com/cms/blockhosts is something we will be testing as are others.

Three and a Half Minutes PDF Print
Dec 07, 2009 at 05:14 PM

I've Just got back in from a event called 3 1/2 minutes, organised by Bath Spa University and the FSB. I have to say it was a very enjoyable evening and really great to see the enthusiasm of the Students, I have to say its hard to make Telephony exciting but they did show interest and hopefully some of what I said was of interest, From my point of view I was really interested to hear what they were interested in and what they were doing as We are always looking for new ideas for products and solution.

I was most pleased to hear that some are using the available technology to allow absent students to see lectures by connecting to Skype and using the webcam so the missing Student could watch at home, Its innovative thinking like this that seems to get lost over time, or squashed as impractical.

Oh and finally they have  more eye catching business cards than many business people do.
